Hello civilization!

Going to Bintan was the best thing that's ever happened in my life thus far. And my fingers are probably gonna break now so.

In Bintan I :

Went into a giant kiln for burning charcoal
Had chicken for lunch everyday for 5 days
Imagined throwing my very dense lunch at people (whoops,it was solid, literally!)
Visited villages and gave them food,clothes and toys
Pulled out mangrove saplings
Planted mangrove saplings in the mud
Got my white shoes black and white socks too
Sank knee-deep into mud while half my body was in water
Stroked puppies
Played candle war while half-asleep
Categorized showering under spraying water all over yourself
Slept in a tent with my roomies
Used "miracle water"
Got slapped as a way of saying goodnight
Had Erin braid my hair (Thank you very much!)
Ate rice for breakfast
Climbed a coconut tree
Did an amazing race consisting of one station
Built sandcastles
Played Sit and Trust
Did a really cool water proficiency test
Walked about 400m (?) into the ocean and realised that the water only came to my waist
Went on a dragon boat expedition to KM 40
Pitched tents in the dark
Tried outdoor cooking at the seaside with super strong winds
Ate uncooked instant noodles
Woke up in puddles in a not-waterproof tent
Slept while pushing the tent outwards
Went for a solo night walk through vegetation which wasn't the least bit scary
Had a tummy ache
Did CIP in a school, sang songs and played games
Trekked up a mountain
And trekked down, of course
Saw fireflies
Noticed that the Earth looked round
Gazed at a million stars
Tried to imagine black stars in a white night sky
Sat in an un-airconditioned bus for a really long time
Used a lot of insect repellent
Used very little sunblock
Slept in a resort with my roomies
Played truth or truth with v12 girls
Realised that they made a cheer for me which is sweet, and embarrassing too (uhoh!)
Bought really nice guava tea and vanilla milk
Visited orphanages
Went on a kind of boring city tour, but learnt much about Bintan
Learnt more about teachers
Wrote a letter
Had lunch at a seafood place
Had dinner at a seafood restaurant
While karaoke-ing to Westlife
Experienced another campfire
Slept really late (or you mean early in the morning?)
Visited a fish port and salak plantation
Went to an indonesian shopping centre to buy stuff for the orphanages
Picked up seashells at a pristine beach
Walked amongst crabs
Woke up 40 minutes late
Ate a pear for supper
Wore squishy shoes
Made new friends
Got to know people better
Witnessed cohort bonding (Go 10v!)
Did not used my handphone for 5 days
Missed POPCORN! (who just got groomed!)
Missed my family
Missed singapore
Missed my friends
Saw the different sides of people,good,bad and all
Realised that sometimes what people show are just the tip of the iceberg
Talked my heart out
Sat on a bus whose meter was spoilt (past 120 kmh!)
Sat on another bus whose meter was also spoilt (Below 0 kmh)
Drove on rollercoaster roads
Saw a huge spider and an equally huge butterfly
Realised how fortunate i was
Felt grateful for little things like dry socks and a roof which doesn't leak
Used a slumdog-millionaire style toilet
Felt that 10v rocks as a cohort.


Yup i miss Bintan, but still, i'm glad to be back in SG. :D Hey civilisation what's up? I have camps for the whole of March holis. And homework too. Woophee. Yay. I'm excited.

Yeah right.

Rock camp, then house camp. Consecutively. Looking forward to rock camp, but i dunno bout house camp. Softballers asked me to go ice skating with them. Awww shucks i really wanna go ):
